Deloitte Ireland acquires leading Irish cloud services provider DNM

Combination will create leading IT-enabled business transformation consulting offering

3 June 2020

Deloitte Ireland has today announced that it has acquired Irish cloud consultancy and managed services business, DNM. Operating across international markets, DNM provides solutions in the areas of cloud, analytics and managed services.

Deloitte and DNM are both focused on accelerating business transformation for clients through technology, with particular synergies in their cloud engineering offerings and capabilities. The combination will create further scale and strength providing Deloitte, already well known for combining trusted business acumen with extensive technology services, with increased capacity to support clients in determining how they can best drive transformation in their businesses through the adoption of cloud technologies.

DNM is a strong and well-established IT consultancy, and one of the foremost cloud technology service providers in the marketplace, specialising in cloud architecture, migration, analytics and managed services. Like Deloitte, DNM is a Premier Consulting Partner in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partner Network (APN). It is also a next generation AWS Managed Service Provider (MSP) Partner. In addition to its cloud offering, the DNM team delivers digital innovation, big data and analytics projects for clients in a wide range of industries.

Commenting on the acquisition, Harry Goddard, CEO, Deloitte Ireland commented: “This is an important investment in our business. The combination of skills in technology and business transformation is a powerful proposition and gives us a real platform for growth in an area of heightened importance for clients. Business and digital transformation is a critical priority for organisations of all sizes. Cloud technology, in particular, is an important enabler in the adoption of new technologies that can make this transformation possible.

“We believe the strengthened offering will be even more beneficial to our clients as the need for transformation becomes more important in a post-Covid-19 world. The need for agility, flexibility and business continuity has become even more pronounced, and digital enablement and cloud will be hugely important in delivering these. The breadth and scale of capability of this newly-combined team - from strategy and design of solutions to implementation, managed services and ongoing delivery - is a compelling offering for our clients. It also enables us to tailor solutions for businesses across all industries and of all sizes – from family and private businesses to public sector organisations and multinational companies.”

The DNM team will join the Consulting business at Deloitte. The combination will create a dedicated team of over 1000 technology consulting professionals in total. Deloitte is recognised as a leading APN Premier Consulting Partner in Ireland that has achieved 12 AWS Competency designations and over 100 AWS Certifications, with an additional 70 Certificates in the Belfast delivery centre. Richard Nunan, having guided the DNM team to success in the Irish marketplace, will join Deloitte as a partner and will head up its cloud AWS offering.

Richard Nunan, CEO at DNM commented: “In a world where agility, greater automation and faster time to innovation is pivotal, I believe this combination with Deloitte will provide us with the strength and scale to raise the profile of the cloud solutions that we can bring to our customers. We are excited to have the opportunity to merge with a global leader, whose alliance ecosystem will accelerate our growth ambitions and make them possible.”

DNM’s credentials as an APN Premier Consulting Partner were a key factor in the acquisition. The company is one of only a handful of next generation AWS MSP Partners that have achieved AWS Data & Analytics Competency status in Europe.  AWS is a key strategic alliance for Deloitte here in Ireland and globally.  Deloitte was named Innovation Partner of the Year for the UK and Ireland by AWS in 2019.

Doug Yeum, Head of Worldwide Channels and Alliances, Amazon Web Services, Inc. commented: “Ireland is an exciting market for AWS and it is great to see two established APN Premier Consulting Partners come together to bring a wealth of skill and knowledge to support our customers.”
