Subject   Modification in Contract Specifications of Cotton Futures

In partial modification to Exchange notice number 20190821-45 dated August 21,2019 regarding
Revision in Contract Specifications of Cotton Futures-Update, trading members are requested to note that there shall be following revision in contract specifications of Cotton Futures contract with symbol ‘COTTONBSE’ with effect from March 11,2020 for March 2020 Contracts and onwards.

1.Existing March 2020 contracts and onwards of Cotton Futures with symbol ‘COTTONBSE’ with trading lot of 20 will not be available for trading with effect from March 11,2020.

 

2. March 2020 contracts and onwards of Cotton Futures with symbol ‘COTTON29’ with trading lot of 25 will be available for trading with effect from March 11,2020.

 

3.There will be no change in existing February 2020 cotton futures contracts with symbol ‘COTTONBSE’.

Quality Specifications on Physical Inspection and HVI Mode

Goods should lie within the Tenderable Range according to defined quality specifications. Outlaying goods will not be accepted for delivery.

Ginning Pattern: Roller Ginned Cotton.

Additional condition on acceptance of Saw Ginned Cotton

1)Basis Grade: Standardized grade as per HVI Middling 31- 3; grades between 11-1 to 31-3 are accepted with Nil premium. Above 31-3 to 41-4 are accepted with discount.

The premiums/discounts with respect to quality specifications (in respect to Grade, Staple, Micronaire, Trash and Moisture) will be announced by exchange before the launch of contract.
