Who we are

As an international, multi-stakeholder, non-profit initiative, All.Can focusses on identifying inefficiencies in cancer care.

The dedicated UK chapter is contributing to this global endeavour through a focus on connecting the dots between enhanced system efficiency, patient experience, and health outcomes. A key part of All.Can UK’s work in this space will centre around seeking views from a range of experts across the health system and policy landscape on how this can be achieved.

Currently, All.Can UK is funded by Bristol Myers Squibb.

What we do

All.Can UK is working to build the evidence base, and the practicable solutions, to support policymakers, governments, and health systems of all shapes and sizes seeking to deliver improved patient experience, reduced costs, and more efficient services. We believe that if done right, these seemingly opposite approaches can be mutually reinforcing.

You can read our latest report here.

Why we do it

Every two minutes someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer.[i] Positively, cancer survival in the UK has doubled in the last 50 years and 50% of people in England and Wales will now survive their cancer for 10 or more years.[ii]

This increase in survival is leading to cancer services facing record-breaking levels of demand as cancer is increasingly seen as a long-term condition. The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated NHS capacity challenges and despite best efforts from staff with limited resources, waiting time targets for diagnosis and treatment are consistently missed.[iii]

A cancer diagnosis is not only life changing for a patient, it is hugely costly to both the NHS and wider economy. At this time of increasing incidence and survival, it is imperative that the NHS is able to deliver more with less whilst always providing the very best possible care for patients.
