“The initiation of the fellowship programme comes at a time when governments all across the world are facing complex and evolving issues in public policy owing to the pandemic. In India, the Government of Meghalaya has joined hands with experts from the Bharti Institute of Public Policy of ISB for equipping Legislative Assembly members with evidence-based policy insights on issues of importance and urgency,” the statement said.
“The first-of-its-kind initiative in India envisaged by a State Government, in partnership with the country’s premier business school, not only paves way for data-driven governance but also provides attractive career opportunities for the state’s youth to contribute to policy making and practice,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, Institute of Governance (MIG), the nodal agency for MLRF, will recruit 12 legislative fellows and two data fellows from Meghalaya.
Following the selection, they will be trained and mentored through a structured two-year programme by the Bharti Institute Public Policy.
“Academicians, student researchers or policy enthusiasts from Meghalaya are welcome to apply before September 20, 2021,” the statement said.
