Majuperak Holdings Berhad (MHB) has taken a significant step towards sustainable energy solutions by entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SPIC Energy Malaysia Berhad (SPIC Energy).
The collaboration aims to explore and potentially develop ground-mounted and floating solar photovoltaic projects in the state of Perak, Malaysia. This strategic partnership also includes the possibility of jointly undertaking Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning Services (EPCC) for these projects.
SPIC Energy Malaysia Berhad, a subsidiary of State Power Investment Corporation Limited, operates under the Malaysia Companies Act. It specializes in power plant construction and is globally recognized as one of the largest corporations in renewable energy generation.
Both parties will work closely to define the general principles and commercial parameters of the solar projects. This includes assessing their feasibility and evaluating strategic investment opportunities.
MHB will lead in identifying potential project sites and third-party investors interested in participating in these developments. Additionally, MHB will collaborate with SPIC Energy to provide EPCC services for these potential investors. Furthermore, MHB will secure all necessary permits and approvals for site entry and usage, including interconnection and installation areas.
SPIC Energy will take the lead in developing the projects, encompassing technical, financial, and commercial aspects, project management, and asset management. In the event of identifying potential third-party investors, SPIC Energy will partner with MHB to offer EPCC services.
The MoU has a validity period of one year from the signing date, with the possibility of extension upon mutual agreement. Either party can terminate the MoU with a seven-day written notice.
This MoU serves as the foundation for potential collaboration between MHB and SPIC Energy in renewable energy projects.
