Delivery executive roles get highest salaries for freshers in blue and grey collar jobs, says report

The report on salary trends also showed that delivery workers in Bengaluru and Chennai earn relatively higher salaries than those in Mumbai and Kolkata.

Delivery executive workers are the highest paid at fresher levels in the blue and grey collar economy, according to a latest report.

The report on salary trends published by Billion Careers, a subsidiary of Quess Corp, showed that in certain job roles, the highest pay at the fresher level was being offered to newly recruited delivery executives.

Billion Careers unveiled salary trends in the period of January 2023 of blue and grey collar employees in India based on the recruiter job posting data on Qjobs, their digital hiring platform.

The data on the average salaries of the delivery workforce showed that delivery workers, with four or more years of experience, earn higher salaries on average, ranging from Rs 2.24- Rs 3.68 lakh per annum (LPA).

It also showed that delivery workers in Bengaluru and Chennai earn relatively higher salaries than those in Mumbai and Kolkata. Moreover, delivery executives with four or more years of experience in Hyderabad earn higher salaries than their counterparts in other cities with similar experience levels, the report added.

Meanwhile, in Delhi, the average salary of delivery workers with one to three years of experience was lower than that of freshers in the city, the report showed, suggesting that the average salary for delivery workers does not always increase steadily with experience.

The report showed that the delivery workforce overall has higher salaries in South India than those in North India, especially for fresher and mid-level (1-3 years) experienced delivery workers.

The salary for freshers in customer care professionals is higher in Kolkata than those with 1-3 years of experience. While in Mumbai, Pune and Delhi, salaries increase with experience, the report showed.

The highest salaries for customer care professionals (those with 4+ years of experience) in Bengaluru stood at Rs 2.64 LPA and in Hyderabad at Rs 2.63 LPA. Salaries also vary within each city based on experience levels, with Hyderabad having the lowest average salaries for freshers and Bengaluru having the highest for experienced.

For telecallers, Chennai offers the highest average salary for freshers at Rs 2.12 LPA, followed by Bengaluru at Rs 2.07 LPA for those with 1-3 years of experience. While Mumbai offers Rs 2.47 LPA to those with 4 or more years of experience, the data showed.

However, in terms of average salary across all experience levels, Bengaluru pays the highest, followed by Mumbai and Chennai, while Hyderabad pays the lowest, the report added.

The report showed that experience has greater impact on salaries for customer care professionals than for telecallers. It also added that telecallers’ salaries are generally lower than that for customer care professionals in all cities.

For field sales executives, the average salary was highest in Bengaluru, ranging from Rs 2.30 LPA for freshers to Rs 2.63 LPA for those with 4 years or more experience, the report showed. With a range of Rs 2.24 -2.57 LPA, average salaries offered in Chennai, Hyderabad, and Mumbai were slightly lower in comparison to Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, Delhi and Pune offered the lowest average salaries, ranging from Rs 2.12-2.48 LPA.

The report also stated that field sales executives with four or more years of experience earn the highest average salary in each city. However, the difference in average salaries between freshers and experienced executives stood less than 10 per cent in most cities, except for Pune, where it was over 10 per cent.

For Back Office Executives, Mumbai offered the highest average salary for those with four years of experience at Rs 3.12 LPA. Meanwhile, Kolkata, Pune, and Bengaluru show a similar salary trend across all experience levels, the report added. Freshers, in the same role, were the highest paid in Chennai at Rs 2.46 LPA and the least in Hyderabad, at Rs 1.80 LPA.
