Thomas Schmidheiny Centre for Family Enterprise, Indian School of Business, organized a talk on Entrepreneurship with Dr BVR Mohan Reddy, in the backdrop of his recently released maiden book “Engineered In India – From Dreams to Billion – Dollar CYIENT”.

Dr BVR Mohan Reddy, Founder Chairman & Board Member, CYIENT, was in conversation with Professor Sougata Ray, Executive Director, Thomas Schmidheiny Centre for Family Enterprise, Indian School of Business. Dr Reddy shared some of his inspiring and exciting experiences and emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship for the growth and development of the nation.

He highlighted the significant demographic dividend of India and the importance of entrepreneurship for the country at this juncture. In a traditional sense, an entrepreneur can be understood as someone who has an idea, takes risks, and reaps economic benefits. Yet Dr Reddy feels that there is more to being an entrepreneur. An entrepreneur contributes to nation-building through job creation, contributing to the exchequer, and giving back to the community. Entrepreneurship is much more than profit-making and sharing profits. He said, “Technology-led innovation coupled with entrepreneurship is the perfect engine for job creation. It will empower India to become self-reliant and allow it to stand tall in the knowledge-intensive global economy.”

Dr Reddy emphasized that the current support systems and technology levels are much more advanced, and the youth of India are better equipped to deliver extraordinary entrepreneurial results than the situation earlier.
